How it works
Less confusion. More clarity.
No open-ended consulting engagement or surprise invoice. Here's the process from your first question to a practical set of next steps.
Send a quick project overview.
Use the inquiry form to describe the property, question, and where you are in the process. Photos, drawings, proposals, and other documents may be requested if relevant.
I confirm the fit.
I'll review your request and determine whether it's within my expertise, geographic reach, and availability. If another specialist is more appropriate, I'll say so.
Agree on scope and price.
You'll receive a clear description of the work, deliverable, timing, fee, and important limitations. The engagement starts only after you approve the terms.
We dig into the details.
Depending on the service, this may involve a document review, a call, or a scheduled site visit. The focus stays on your specific decision or problem.
You get a clear path forward.
You'll receive the agreed consultation and written findings or recommendations, including any unanswered questions and appropriate follow-up actions.
Common questions
Good questions. Glad you asked.
Do I need drawings before contacting you?
No. Tell me what you're considering and what information you already have. If drawings would be necessary to answer your question responsibly, I'll let you know.
Can we do this remotely?
Often, yes—especially for proposal reviews and document-based questions. Some construction concerns are best evaluated with a site visit or specialist inspection.
Will you manage my renovation?
Construction Nerd is designed around focused advisory engagements, not ongoing daily construction management. If your needs extend beyond a consultation, we'll discuss what type of professional support is appropriate.
Do you also do the construction work?
Construction Nerd is an advisory service. Any potential construction engagement through Adept Builders would be separately disclosed, scoped, and contracted.
